The New Medical Pro-Famille Clinique is on the way

Several years back our clinic burned and we found ourselves out on the street. We went on to find a temporary building which is our current location, but now we must move. We received a site to build on , volunteers cleared the lot, an engineer drew our requirements and an architect drew the plans. We are currently building the new clinic as we receive the funds.

UPDATE : July 15, 2022
The foundation is complete!
We were able to complete the initial $60,000 phase for $53,300 and can now move on to building the walls. The walls will take 7,000 cement blocks at $1.50 each.

 UPDATE: October 2022
At the end of October, we were $11,650 into the wall construction. The landlord gave us an ultimatum to move out in November 2022. Our contractor said he could complete enough of the new building in 5 months so that we could move in, the cost is $50,000. The landlord generously agreed to extend the lease until March 31, 2023.

UPDATE: March 1, 2023
Dr. Gerve's new clinic in Cap Haitien is progressing steadily. The walls on the 1st floor have been completed and now the ceiling/ 2nd story floor has been completed. The second floor will be completed down the road as we need more space. Currently we need the 1st floor completed enough to move in by March 31st. To complete the ceiling, plywood is propped in place and held up by poles underneath. Rebar is then laid on top of the plywood.

When the rebar layer is completed, the concrete is then hauled up, mixed, and applied.

That is how the roof went on. We are still on track for the move.

                     Update July 6, 2023:
We Did It... well, not completely but we          finished the new clinic enough so that we           could move in. We have continued to see    patients and serve the community through                                  the transition.

With the installation of windows and doors this month, the building project will be complete. That isn't to say there aren't more things to do. The solar electrical system upgrade is next on the list.
